Digital tools for learning

Digital tools for learning

Using digital tools for school work and learning is very useful for many reasons.

One of the reasons is because its so easy to find things on the internet. You can just go on Google or any other search site and type in what you want and then it’ll immediately show up sites of your choosing or if you want an image, just go on click the images tab and it’ll show you all the images related to your topic. If you want a location, go on the maps tab and type in where it is you want to see and it’ll show you all the locations of the type of building/location.

the second thing is that it saves on paper. Paper is an important material in our world and is not unlimited. Sooner or later, we will run out of trees to turn into paper and we will also lose oxygen because of the extreme loss of trees so instead of writing on paper, you can just type on the keyboard like I am doing as I write this and if you're worried about the how your teacher is not going to see your work, you can either print it on paper or you can type it on an Google docs in Google drive and share with your teacher if he/she has an email address.

And the third reason is that its quicker and faster to type then write on paper for some people and not only that, but its also neater and easier to read and that's not all. You can also use it for more things than just typing and searching up things. You can also use it to create presentations, drawing, spreadsheets, planning and many more and some devices are portable so you can bring your learning anywhere as long as you have a wi-fi network.

Overall, digital tools are very useful and is an quicker, faster and more efficient way for some people and besides it small downsides, it will be improved in the near future and everybody might have one and use it for learning as well.

Kidpreneur Prototypes

+Today we made an prototype to improve our product. We added beads and letters on our rings. We also started a survey to make our product even better on survey monkey. the prototype had to be made of high quality materials and an simple design.

Ratios with dye

In maths, we are learning about ratios. We added drops of two colors into the water. I put 6 yellow to 3 red or 6:3 and it made a orangey beer color. if I double the amount I added it would be 12 to 6 Or 12:6. Tripled will give me 18:9 etc.

The giant icicle

On a dark and stormy night, the rain was smashing against my window as if it was trying to break it apart, the wind howled like a wolf did at the moon and the moon was covered by the dark rain clouds as if it was trying to camouflage.
It was cold but it was warm for me because of the excitement and anticipation of the soccer tournament. As I was about to rest my head, suddenly, it started to hail and it formed a giant Icicle that crashed into the house and I watched as it burrowed into the core of the earth, creating a massive earthquake (I know the earth would explode but it would be too boring if it ended in the first paragraph).
I was shocked as I saw my house crumbling bit by bit, piece by piece and chunk by chunk. The walls were splitting into many bits and pieces and the roof crashed down on me but I quickly dashed to the door which had fell to the ground and escaped without a scratch. I was in shock and horror, what will I do? Where will I go? Will I live on the streets? Then, I knew what to do and that was…. to burn the icicle.
I went to the nearest guns and ammo store to get myself some Molotov cocktails and was surprised that there was no one inside. The shop owner’s gone he left every single gun and equipment in the store. I thought “What a dumb shop owner.” And kind of stole all the Molotov cocktails and other fire weapons he had. I went back and threw a cocktail. The fire roared as it hit the top of the Giant sharp ice but it had no effect. I kept on throwing one after the other but it didn’t even make a dent! I tried the flamethrower but even the power of the intense fire only took out 1/100th of it. I tried everything! Bullets, arrows, blades, oil but nothing ever worked so I had to use my secret weapon… The napalm bomb.
The bomb was 4M long, just big enough for the hole. I dropped it and sprinted as fast as I could, away from the bomb just in case I get blasted by the intense air. The explosion sky rocketed into the air and the blast left a giant smoke cloud that made it impossible to see. Once the smoke cleared away, I went to check the hole and the icicle was gone and the earthquake/aftershocks went away and that was the end of that disaster.

Laser Bowling

I hear it! Arcade machines  whirling, pins falling and lasers firing. I’ve Finally arrived at AMF bowling For my friends birthday party.

I meet my friend and his friends near the bowling section and we got the tickets and put on the special non-slip and hardcover shoes. The bowling balls were kinda heavy but I managed to lift one somehow. When we started bowling I was so annoyed that I kept on getting spares and kept on missing them but in the end, I got the highest score (out of us) which was 108 points
.

Once we were done, we went to the arcade and played some games but the real fun began when it was laser time. When we went in, we took a seat and the screen at the top turned on. It told us how to fire the gun, what happens when you shoot someone and what happened when we get shot. We picked a colour to symbolise each team. Once we entered the dark course, the timer started and away we went!

We kept shooting and hear the pew! Every single time. We shot left and right, up, down and all around to get everyone and the most points. I remember that my friends dad shot everywhere in front of him and we couldn’t get close to him so I had to hide behind a wall because if we charged in, it would just be plain suicide.

When we got back to the room, we added the points to see who got the most and obviously, my friends dad and his team won and I forgot how many points my team had but I had around 44,000
. Afterwards, we used the tickets we got from the arcade to buy some prizes and everyone left the fun place called AMF bowling and went back to their respective living places.

Saint Patricks Day

Saint Patrick’s Day

Every Saint has a feast day and one of these days is Saint Patrick's day, it is an important day.

Saint Patrick’s day is the feast day of Saint Patrick and it is naturally celebrated at Saint Patrick's School. This year they celebrated by separating the students into groups and having activities in each class. There are were six groups, Dongalls, Emeralds, Tipperary's, Leprechauns, Litericks and Shamrocks.

The first activity was bowling and the rules were simple. Each person got two shots and the team with the most points won. The second activity was making shamrocks. You trace a shamrock on a piece of paper and choose words to write on it on the board and colour it in. The third activity was fishing. People had to fish for letters and the team that makes the most words won.

The fourth activity was making a pot o’ gold at the end of a rainbow. You had to get a cardboard and a piece of paper that had a rainbow on it. After cutting out the rainbow it had to be stuck on to the cardboard that was shaped like a rainbow. Next you had to stick some cotton one one side and cut a small line on the other side. The teacher put a plastic container on it then she puts some lollies in the container.

The fifth activity is sponge painting a cardboard shamrock. You picked three colours and you painted them in the three sides with a sponge. The final activity is making leprechaun bookmarks. The teachers gave out points to each group and the team that has the most points wins.

This year Donegals won. Which team do you think would win next year?

Feelings

LI: I am learning how to write an explanation.
Some people swear when they are angry and some people punch something when they are angry.

When people are angry, they clench their fist and have a solid face. Some people even break things and swear. Some people hit people when they are angry at certain people and some little kids get angry over the most dumb stuff like how they ate the last piece of chip but they were actually saving it.

When people are sad, they cry and tears drip from their eyes. Little kids say wah when they cry and start sniffling. Some people have to drink water to stop crying and some people keep on crying even though they're not sad anymore.

When people are happy, they have sunny face and smile. Some people chuckle and laugh when the see or hear something funny.(To them.) Some people even laugh at other people mistakes and pain!

When people are scared, they have a horrified face and scream “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!” To scare someone, they usually go “Boo!” When they least expect or a jump scare. For example, some just walking “Lalalalala.” And then suddenly some goes “Rah!” in front of them and then the other person goes “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!”

Con: These are some of the emotions that we have. Can you explain any other emotions?

Dragons

Dragons

There are many mythical creatures and one of them is the dragon.

Dragons are strange creatures and most people know dragons as a big green thing with wings that breath fire

and yes that is one of the types of dragons but there is another type of dragon and they look different. These dragons look more serpentine (like a snake) and some of them have wings but some of them don’t.
In Chinese mythology, a dragon was married to a feng huang (Chinese Phoenix) and yes, it is a weird combination but there is a meaning. In the Han Dynasty, there were two birds, a male named Feng and a female named Huang. Later in the Yuan Dynasty, they merged and became Fenghuang and translated in to Phoenix. The Fenghuang was known as the King of birds but they recognised it as an empress and was paired up with a dragon which was recognised as the emperor.

As I mentioned, there are different types of dragons. One of them is the European dragon and they look big, have wing and breath fire.
Another one is the chinese dragon that looks more like a snake.
And the last type is the Japanese dragon and they are in Japanese mythology and folklore.

For spelling, I am doing a poetry twist or something like that because I can't remember. A poetry twist is a poetry that is shaped like a diamond and it is made out of your list. It includes nouns, verbs and adjectives.

Whats hot on the gaming channel?

Level grinding

Level grinding is very popular amongst gamers and is usually used to beat a boss.

Level grinding is basically a shorter version of defeating lots of enemies and gaining exp and it usually takes a long time.exp is short for experience points and some games need you to gain these point so you can upgrade or level up.

It takes a long time because most people just grind in the same spot so they keep on defeating enemies in the same spot and they give the same exp so it takes ages.It takes a long time because you’ll be higher level then every enemy in that area and you won’t give you that much exp anymore.

To gain exp points you usually have to defeat enemies as seen in Pokemon. In Pokemon, you have to defeat other Pokemon to gain exp.You need to gain exp to level up and at a certain level, they evolve and become stronger. In pokemon, the max level is 100 but in some pokemon games, (pokemon vortex.)some events, the enemies can get level 150 pokemon.

Level grinding may seem boring for most people, but some people like grinding because some people like being overpowered or OP for short and like defeating enemies in one hit including myself.

WALHT write a explanation. I had to write and explanation about anything I wanted.(e.g crabs, snakes, sharks, games etc.) and this is it. (Like I said, no promises.)
